THE CHOIR SCHOOL OF ST. PETER’S in Charlotte, NC, will present a concert at St. Mary’s on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. The choir singing at St. Mary’s is composed of 17 girls and 15 boys, ranging in age from 10 - 14. We are currently looking for families to host choir members in their homes the night of June 17th. In hosting choir members you are asked to: provide a snack for the young people following the concert on June 17th, provide sleeping arrangements, and breakfast the morning of June 18th. Breakfast need not be elaborate. You will then return the choir member to the church on Thursday morning. More explicit directions will be given to host families at a later time. Gordon Street Christian Church is hosting this year’s Vacation Bible School which includes the children and volunteers from First Presbyterian Church, Gordon Street Christian Church and St. Mary’s. Bible School begins on Monday, June 15, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. It will run Monday – Thursday, June 15-18. VBS is for children 3 years of age through the Fifth Grade (completed). Shelly Yarbrough is the St. Mary’s coordinators for this event. Adult and youth volunteers are needed as well as a number of items listed on the bulletin board in the narthex! LEMONADE ON THE LAWN: Light summer refreshments will be offered on Sundays following the 10:00 am Holy Eucharist, June 21st--August 16th. A sign-up sheet is located in the Narthex. You are asked to provide lemonade and something to eat. Paper products will be provided. Linda Johnson, our Parish Secretary, will be coordinating this ministry. CONVERSATIONS TO CONTINUE: Lent we devoted time on Wednesday evenings to hear about the groundwork already begun with RenewalWorks.
Where Do We Go From Here?” Utilizing survey results and the final report, it’s time to move on to the next step. During the summer, we will be offering two sessions to hear your responses small groups will be formed. These small groups will consist of individuals who were part of the design committee and members of the Vestry who have received and reviewed the report. It is ideal to have at least three members of the design committee, three members of the Vestry in each group. We also invite members of the parish to be part of the conversation. A signup sheet is located on the bulletin board in the Narthex. You are encouraged to sign up for one of these dates - - Monday, June 8th at 7:30 p.m. and Wednesday, June 24th at 7:30 p.m. in the Parlor. We hope you will consider helping us to keep the conversation going.
